Robert Indermaur (born in Chur on 9 June 1947) went to school in Chur and graduated from Bündner Lehrerseminar school in 1967. With his future wife Barbara and some friends, he founded Grisons first studio theatre (“Klibühni Schniderzunft”) in Chur in 1974, and was the head of the theater association for ten years. Since the 1970s, Robert Indermaur has been working as a full-time freelance artist. He started with abstract painting, followed by figurative painting and, later, added sculptures and graphic art. With his life-size figures and groups of people, painted on different walls and facades in the city center of Chur, Indermaur progressively anticipated the very topical debate about “art in public space” as far back as 1983.
Today, Indermaur lives and works in Almens and Paspels (Grison, Switzerland) and this year he celebrate his 70. Birthday.
